While his ex-girlfriend Madonna has been facing accusations of an ’affair of the heart’ with Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez, Carlos Leon tells PEOPLE that things are drama-free with their daughter, Lourdes.

’She’s at that point where she can call me and say, ’Hey Dad,what’s up? What time are you going to get me?’ ’ he says of his11-year-old. ’It’s really cool. We talk every day.’ (For the record, he says of Madonna’s alleged affair: ’Trust me, that’s a lie. I know for a fact, she wouldn’t do that.’)

Their daily chats,however, do not include doses of daddy discipline. ’It’s hard for me to be the tough guy with my daughter,’ says Leon, an actor and personal trainer who recently designed the fitness center in the Crescent Club condo in Long Island City through his company, Leon Fitness. ’Maybe I should work on the discipline stuff, but I could leave her mother to do that!’

Still, he says, despite her well-known parents, Lourdes(’Lola,’ as he calls her) remains a grounded kid. ’Look at me and the way I live: I ride my bicycle, I walk, I don’t have a driver,’ says Leon. ’That’s how I keep her grounded. Her mom does a good job too –she’s not that person that everyone thinks. She’s very laid back and cool.’

And Lourdes shares Dad’s taste in music, too, Leon says –taking out his i Phone to show off some music she’s downloaded. ’Alicia Keys, Audio slave, Beck. I like everything she listens to!’

Queen of Pop Madonna has made the short list for her eco efforts in Playhouse Disney’s inaugural Playing for the Planet Awards which aim to celebrate eco-heroes big and small across seven different categories.

For the coveted Greenest Star category, Playhouse Disney, together with Awards ambassador Peter Duncan, have devised a shortlist of top ten environmentally friendly stars, revealed today. Preschooler’s and their families across the UK are being encouraged to visit www.playhousedisney.co.uk/playingfortheplanet to vote for one of the Top Ten or nominate one of their own favourites green stars.

The celebrities who have made the shortlist are all known for their green attitudes and using their public profile to encourage us all to change our ways, by doing the little things which make a big difference.

Hollywood A-listers, Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio have also made it onto the list by donating time, money and support to a range of green campaigns. Another A-List celeb making a difference is Sienna Miller, who has made it her personal mission to raise awareness of global warming. UK celebs are also doing their bit, with Lily Allen regarded as a committed green crusader among her peers and Harry Potter star Emma Watson spending time working with the Wild Trout Trust. Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin shows how rock‘n’roll can be green by travelling on an eco-friendly tour bus with recycling facilities, while his wife Gwyneth Paltrow has fronted environmental campaigns in the USA to help curb the country’s reliance on oil. Madonna wants Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears to reunite for her new Sticky And Sweet tour.

Spears recently filmed a music video which will be played at the concerts but Madge apparently wants to go further.A source told The Sun: “Madonna is always trying to raise the bar and Britney and Timberlake on the same stage would be perfect.”

JT and Brit were a couple for years before they split up acrimoniously after Spears cheated on him.

The insider admits that the pair need persuading to appear together: “I think both are a bit reluctant. Britney would find it all a bit emotional and JT might not fancy it.”

Meryl Streep has denied yesterday the existence of a feud with Madonna over the main role in the movie musical Evita released in 1996, blaming the continuation of the rumor to the internet.

Streep, reportedly annoyed at losing the lead role to Madonna, apparently attacked the Queen of Pop in an interview with the New York Times in 1991 saying, "I could rip her throat out. I can sing better than she can, if that counts for anything."

But yesterday Streep denied ever making the comment telling USA Today, "No, I didn’t say it. That's one of those things you can never erase from whatever it is, the Internet. Why would I say that? I was out of the running by the time they got the movie together. It’s a fabulous story, though. Oh, and I don’t think I can sing better than her. And I certainly can’t dance better."

His bandmate Jordan Knight, 37, added: “I know he’s putting in a good word for us to have Madonna on the album. It’s looking good. Fingers crossed.”

The band also revealed this week they are collaborating with pop legend Michael Jackson, who is currently working on his own comeback record. Despite their association with such high profile artists, Jordan insists the band won’t be taking themselves too seriously with their new material, saying: “We don't feel we have to do a groundbreaking piece of art for everybody to say, 'Whoa they're deep'. We are a boy band, and we do have girl fans and we like showing off and having fun."
